Ping Pong Ball Launcher.

 
 

Goals

  • Prototype a ping pong ball launcher that can shoot a ball into a cup at varying heights and distances

  • For my Dynamics (ME212) course project

Contributions

  • Designing, prototyping, and testing

  • Toleranced for commercial FDM printing to allow the entire base and barrel to be printed as a single part, even though the part is intended to rotate

  • Went with an incremental, spring-loaded design to ensure predictability of results

 

Results

  • Successfully shot into 5/6 cups during final testing

  • With 20 power settings, 15 angle settings, and 3 spring options, we had a total of 900 possible flight paths
